What can I use it for?
With LockDown Browser, you can help preserve academic integrity in Canvas quizzes and exams:

Tips

You first need to enable LockDown Browser in your Canvas course, then apply it to the specific Canvas quizzes you want locked down.

Prepare students for LockDown Browser assessments
- Be clear and specific about your intent for using LockDown Browser。Explain these points to students:

- LockDown Browser runs as a separate program. You can also uninstall LockDown Browser when you are done.
- 明确什么限制设置what will and won’t be allowedon students’ computers during the assessment. Clarify procedures around washroom breaks, using scratch paper, or any other needs specific to your course. Provide procedures for opening spreadsheet editors or Zoom for the exam, if applicable.

- In the quiz instructions, with your cursor on the line with the link, pressenterto make the link clickable and粘贴the Passcode on the line below.

Tips
- These instructions describe how to set up a type of Canvas quiz called Classic Quizzes。If you would like to use the quiz type called New Quizzes, please联系我们first.
- If you will be using Zoom with LockDown Browser, stress to students that they should不是打开缩放链接，直到他们开始考试。If they open the Zoom link first, then open the exam, the Zoom tab in LockDown Browser will disappear. You may be able to see and hear them still, but they will not be able to see or interact with the Zoom session in any way, including turning video or audio on/off and sending questions or answers via chat.
- Canvas will always call your assessments a “quiz”那whether you want to assign a quiz or exam to your students.
- In the settings for your Canvas quiz, please add extra time for students to deal with any technical issuesthat may arise from using LockDown Browser. We recommend adding at least 15 minutes to the Time Limit and 30 minutes to the Time Availability.
- Remove any special characters from your quiz titles.LockDown Browser is localized for multiple languages, and special characters, like those from other languages, will interfere.
